The Micro Hardware Certification course focuses on Micro Controllers and the associated option boards. In this course the technician will learn how to install and maintain Micro controllers. Technicians will also have the opportunity to explore different reader technologies and connect these to the micro controllers.

Facility Commander WnX 7.5 Certification

This course focuses on FCWnx installation, configuration, and operations. Classroom topics also include intrusion zones, elevator controls, anti passback, guard tours, schedules, client-server connectivity, and troubleshooting tools. Participants will also learn how to administer a system along with viewing and printing applicable reports and backing up and restoring a system.

Facility Commander WnX 7.5 End-User Training

This course focuses on FCWnx configuration, and operations. Classroom topics include Creating operators and permissions, designing badges and creating access rights. Participants will also learn how to administer a system along with viewing and printing applicable reports and backing up a system.

Facility Commander WnX Global Certification

The Facility Commander Wnx Global Certification course is an advanced course to teach technicians how to install and configure a regional / global system. This is an intense 3-day course that requires prior certification and experience with Facility Commander Wnx. Class size is limited to six participants given the advanced applications. To be successful during and after the class, students must have the listed prerequisites.

Picture Perfect Certification

The Picture Perfect Certification focuses on the Picture Perfect Access Control system. From this course the technician will learn how to install and setup RHEL Linux and Picture Perfect. Participants will learn how to configure all aspects of the database and administer the Standalone system. A special one day module at the end of the course treats Picture Perfect Redundant and Enterprise optional configurations. The course involves a high degree on hands-on practical work, with one server used by each pair of students. Students will participate in guided scenarios and mentored role-plays.

Access Control Sales/Pre-Sales Training

This course focuses on our enterprise range of access control hardware and software. Classroom topics also include basic terminology and the benefits of choosing UTC Fire & Security. Participants will also learn how to use our price list and how to perform quotations.

Fire

EST3 Hardware and Installation

This course will teach participants the principles of the EST3 Network life safety system. The course is a classroom training with emphasis on the hardware and installation of the EST3 fire alarm system. The functions, capabilities, and applications of EST3 components will be discussed. Also, the course will cover the hardware and installation of Signature Series devices. This course is the first phase of the full EST3 product certification process. For full product certification participants need to complete this course along with the EST3 Programming and Networking Course.

EST3 Networking and Programming

This is an intensive five-day course on planning, programming, downloading, and debugging of the EST3 System Definition Utility program (3-SDU). You work with EST-generated site specifications in a classroom setting. Also, you are introduced to and learn to use rule and object programming to design a program that meets the specifications. Specific applications are discussed and programmed. Each participant will need a laptop computer during class and will be provided with a training limited version of the SDU. This course is the second phase of the EST3 product certification process for those who have completed the EST3 Hardware installation classroom course.

EST3 Advanced Programming Course

This is an intensive three days course on advanced programming and debugging of the EST3 System Definition Utility program (3-SDU). You are introduced to latest rules and objects programming, such as command lists, logical inputs/outputs, system functions etc. Special applications in topic are all from real world requirements. Programming pitfalls from actual jobs are also discussed. This course is your single stop to gear up your in depth knowledge of EST3 programming.

Gas Detection Training

This training covers the installation, configuration and use of our range of gas detection control panels (excluding KMD300) and accompanying range of gas detectors.

Alliance 8300 Certification

The Alliance 8300 Certification course is a three day classroom training program. This three-day course is composed of:
• 1 day IP training (general knowledge and operating system related options)
• 2 day Alliance 8300 Software training focused on its installation, configuration, and operations.
Classroom topics also include client-server connectivity, CCTV and Fire equipment management and control, and troubleshooting tools. Participants will also learn how to administer a system along with viewing and printing applicable reports and backing up and restoring a system.

ATS Master Training

The ATS Classic hardware course will provide system integrators, pre-sales engineers and installers the necessary knowledge to be able to define the correct ATS Classic products and accessories for each project. It will also enable them to install, commission and maintain that security system in a professional way.

Technology Training

IP Networking – Module 1: The Roots and principles of TCP/IP

In this course you will acquire the necessary know how on the possibilities and working principles of TCP/IP protocols and applications. Together with a detailed overview of the world of TCP/IP, you will learn how the different protocols are linked together and see how they work. Besides understanding the important terminology, we will cover troubleshooting of typical network problems in order to eventually enable you to configure an IP camera for viewing over the internet.

IP Networking – Module 2: Advanced TCP/IP

This course builds upon the knowledge acquired in the IP Module1 training course. You will not only acquire the knowledge as to how the Internet works but also why. Through some in-depth examination of Ethernet and IP packets, we lay the basis for mastering network troubleshooting by means of packet tracing tools and some important built-in protocols like ICMP & TELNET. After a detailed explanation of DNS, Mail and HTTP, we will be able to build our own fully-functional intranet/internet.

Video & Transmission

Analog and Digital Video for CCTV Systems

The first 2 days will introduce the basic concepts for CCTV systems to the participants. The focus is on laying a foundation of knowledge on current and future TV standards, CCTV system definitions, and analog video equipment like cameras, lenses, keyboards. A large part of the course is dedicated to explaining camera and lens concepts, selecting the right combinations for a given CCTV application, setting up and installing the camera.
Other important topics of this course are video transmission over different media and troubleshooting of CCTV systems. The course is a mix of background knowledge lectures, theoretical and practical product training on the latest UTC cameras and transmission video hardware, and exercises for calculating various relevant parameters required for selecting the right product for a given CCTV requirement.
The following 2 days will introduce digital video systems for CCTV to the participants. It features a mix of background knowledge lectures, theoretical and practical product training on the latest UTC digital video hardware like digital video recorders, IP cameras, and network video recorders. This is completed with product line overviews and trouble-shooting exercises.

Principles of signal transmission

Transmission products are used in many security applications and this training introduces the types of signals we can work with and how we transmit these over different mediums.
After this course the attendees will be able to understand the potential of transmitting signals over Coax, UTP, Fiber Optics and Wireless.

IP transmission

Technology is migrating to Internet Protocol, especially within the security domain. Attendees to this training course will be offered a basic introduction to how IP works and its relevance to the security industry and things to look out for when selecting products.

UltraView Enterprise Video Platform Sales & Pre-sales training

This course is aimed to sales and pre-sales engineers as well as project leaders and project engineers who need to gain an broad understanding of the VisioWave Intelligent Video Platform solution, both from a technical and from a commercial point of view. The course consists of 2 parts: a one day sales training and a two day pre-sales training. The sales part of the course treats the following main topics:
• What is the IVP system and what are its hardware and software components.
• What are the unique selling features of the IVP system.
• How does it compare to other systems on the market and what are the target markets.
• How to quote a video surveillance system based on the IVP solution.
The pre-sales part of the training addresses how to design a CCTV system based on IVP hardware and software. The course highlights design options in terms of hardware and software selection, storage system layout, network aspects. Some detailed technical information on selected key features is also provided. An extensive product demonstration with integration into access and fire control systems concludes this training.

UltraView Enterprise Video Platform Video Security Center System Administration Certification

This course will introduce the participants to the system, technology, and software of the Ultraview Enterprise Video Platform video surveillance system. The participants will be trained in understanding the unique features of the EVP solution and how to set-up, configure and use the system using the Ultraview Security Center (VSC) video management software. This course consists of a mix of presentations and demonstrations on a real EVP system as well as software configuration and operation exercises done by the course participants on dedicated training stations. A typical course lesson will start with the instructor introducing a new system feature, explaining why it is useful and what the configuration options are, followed by an exercise for the students to work on their training stations.

UltraView Enterprise Video Platform Video Security Center System Support Certification

This course consists of 2 parts: hardware installation and system support. The hardware installation part explains in detail the different EVP equipments, their first time installation, replacement, and maintenance. All H.264-SVC compatible equipments are covered, including the storage servers and RAID storage devices. The participants gets a thorough understanding of the equipment hardware configuration options, connectivity, performance, and possible maintenance operations. The support part explains how to support an EVP system which uses the Ultraview Video Security Center (VSC) video management software. The different possibilities for monitoring and trouble shooting an EVP system are explained and demonstrated. The course focuses also on how to upgrade the Video Operating System (firmware) on the EVP equipments and direct interaction with the EVP equipment firmware. The participants will be trained in understanding the components and underlying concepts of the Ultraview Software Development Kit (SDK), its interactions with the Ultraview Video Operating System (VOS) and the Ultraview Central Configuration Server (CCS), and how to use the various software methods provided by the SDK. This course consists of a mix of presentations and software programming & configuration exercises done by the course participants on dedicated training stations. The course starts with an introduction section based on presentations, followed by a number of course sections which each treat a different aspect of the Ultraview EVP system. In each section, we will start by briefly reviewing the related EVP system features; then we continue with a presentation of the software methods provided in the SDK to configure and control these features, and we finish with a dedicated programming exercise to be done by the student.
